Thanks for all of you guys who could make it out to the Pumpkin Carve last weekend.
We had a great turn out, great contests and gave away some pretty sweet prizes!
Here’s some photos from the day:
We love Robby Lee from Clemson and the longboarding club up there Clemson Stoke!
The crowd!
Craig Crossley in the shortboard ground tricks competition.
After party at Salty’s!
Ted Aslund won a Sector 9 deck for first place in the ground tricks competition!
Many thanks to Paul (directly above..mustache and all) who owns Salty’s in Five Points for playing a huge role in getting the Pumpkin Carve together, helping provide some prizes and throwing us an after party! A very successful event and you can definitely expect another one in the spring.
Here’s a montage video from the beginners and advanced slide competitions:

Hey guys, wanted to throw up a new post with some pictures of the past week or so.
We’ve had some GREAT turn outs at our Friday skates and lots of new people coming
to learn. If you haven’t been able to come out, please do – it’s been a blast!
Here’s the club out on a day skate – we’re thinking about renaming Carolina Skate
to the USC Dervish Club… let’s get some new boards!
We had a little skating day camp for about 45 minutes to an hour just teaching
people who were interested and giving them a shot without having to purchase
a board. We got a lot of positive feedback and hopefully some future skaters!
We’ve also got another version of the promo video to be thrown up on the Vimeo
and Youtube accounts – I’ll be updating once that is on it’s way.
Also keep your eyes out for our posters for the
“Pumpkin Carve” – our Halloween Skate.
Those will be approved and up shortly around campus and via the web.
Skate on (once this nasty weather clears!)

I’d say something that the majority of us are working on is sliding.
There’s only two of us with actual sliding gloves but a lot of us have
given them a shot – cool part is half of the sliders aren’t using slicker
or orangatang wheels.. it’s been fun helping each other out.
Here’s some shots from the past few days:

Thomas Barrineau, sorry I didn't get closer..

Brodie Wall, about to kill it?

Brodie again, on an original board without sliding wheels.

Cale Workman, we dubbed this as his blue steel.
And here are some for the past few days of fun:

Cameron Powell, our club mascot as a T Rex. Long boarding related crash.

So I told Casey Spigner that he couldn't manual my board (Sector9 Haleiwa - no nose, no tail) and well..

James Fulton doing the robot.

Casey Spigner, he also attempted a 360.

Some of the riders get antsy when we stay in one place for too long.
Working on getting a video or two up, sit tight.
